In the late 1970s, the company successfully developed the export side of the business, primarily to Germany and later also to the rest of Europe. During the 1980s, the company steadily built up a worldwide fixed dealer network of loyal partners with a personal connection.

In the overseas regions such as America, the Middle East, the Far East and Eastern Europe, Montis dealt with buyers directly rather than through importers. There has been a Montis sales branch and distribution centre in North Carolina for the last ten years. This centre takes care of the distribution and sales to the whole of North, Central and South America. These days, Montis supplies to more than 1,200 partners in more than 40 countries worldwide.
