Production
In 1996 the production process was further professionalised with the company’s own department for moulded foam. Although this production method was already used in the automobile industry, it was new in the furniture sector.
With the use of this production method it was possible to create elegant shapes and fragile structures without having to use adhesives for the different components. In terms of quality this proved to be enormous progress.
Montis was now able to make the frameworks using the latest methods and precision, and to create a foam design in high quality polyurethane foam. Because of this technique, the inner structure is of the highest possible quality and allows for much greater freedom of design. It also became possible to make these structures suitable for various applications, including fire-retardant foam for different exporting countries. By using this technology we could work virtually without waste.
In 2003 we also started working with a computer-driven leather/material cutting machine which is able to work even more quickly and accurately and in this way contributes to a significant reduction in costs.
