An imaginative design with inviting comfort
A range of modular seating elements, which can also be used as freestanding units. There is a choice of four seating elements, seven back elements and an ottoman. Using an ingenious linkage system in the feet, the units can be combined to create a seating arrangement of the desired shape and size. The curved asymmetrical back elements can be combined to form a conventional settee or an armchair. The lumbar cushions are ‘hinged’ together and, when folded down, serve as armrests. In contrast to most modular systems, the seat base is correctly sloped for comfortable sitting, while the linked cushions provide back or arm support wherever it’s needed. Each element is individually covered, allowing an infinite combination of colours and materials. With its sturdy seating elements, delicately constructed back elements and loose down-filled cushions, the Baku combines a subtle, imaginative design with inviting comfort.
